We Got Google

On June 8th, TechSquare Labs and Google For Entrepreneurs announced a partnership that officially crowns our co-working and entrepreneurship centre one of 10 Google For Entrepreneurs North American Tech Hubs and is the 26th tech hub globally.

Joining the Tech Hub Network allows TechSquare Labs to connect startup communities and local entrepreneurs across more than 125 countries, from Chicago to London to Shanghai.

Google will provide members of TechSquare Labs with mentorship and funding opportunities and training on Google products, including the Google Cloud Platform for Startups and the Google for Entrepreneurs Global Passport, giving entrepreneurs immediate access to global networks and coworking spaces around the world.

“We are thrilled to expand our North America Tech Hub Network by partnering with TechSquare Labs in Atlanta as they continue their focus on delivering inspiration to game changers while building a thriving community of startups here” said Genna Mckeel, Partnership Manager for Google for Entrepreneurs. “We look forward to connecting their members with our global partner network and working more closely with startups in Atlanta.”

For nearly two decades, the founding team at TechSquare Labs has been contributing to the development of Atlanta’s entrepreneurial ecosystem – first as startup founders and today as ecosystem builders and investors. The Midtown innovation and startup entrepreneurship hub will now open its 15,000-square-foot space to entrepreneurs from around the globe and provide Atlanta-based startups with access to Google’s global network and resources.

“Becoming a Google-supported tech hub is a key milestone not only for us, but also for the entire Atlanta startup ecosystem, as the city’s entrepreneurs gain access to a wealth of resources and Google’s global network “ said TechSquare Labs founder Dr. Paul Judge. “We are proud of this partnership and look forward to helping ‘Build Something from Nothing’ with the Google For Entrepreneurs team.”

In addition to a cluster of corporate innovation labs and startups, Atlanta is swarming with top tech talent from Georgia Tech, the Savannah College of Art and Design, University of Georgia, Emory University, Morehouse College and Spelman College, making it ideal for the Google for Entrepreneurs Tech Hub Network and global startups.

“Atlanta is known for its incredible density of educational institutions,” said Allen Nance, founding partner at TechSquare Labs. “In addition to 250,000 students, 27 Fortune 1000 companies call Atlanta home, generating nearly half a trillion dollars in revenue each year.”

In 2015, more than 200,000 entrepreneurs were actively engaged in the Google for Entrepreneurs partner communities, creating over 6,000 jobs and raising more than $1B.
